Coming Full Circle: the Art of Marte Thompson

Marte Thompson has been a commercial artist, technical illustrator, computer graphic artist, and most recently, webdesigner, for leading Silicon Valley companies such as Lockheed-Martin, Sega of America, Oracle Corporation, and NASA,Ames Research. After a thirty-year corporate career, Marte is returning “full circle” to her first love: Fine Art. She has been attending CSE for seven years, and we are pleased to present her work.

This exhibit represents the high points of a life’s work, Paintings done over the course of thirty years, from 1974 to 2004. The images represent stages in the evolution of consciousness, from invertebrate to Vertebrate: jellyfish, fish, reptiles, birds, mammals, and finally, humans. Culminating in the Reflective soul of Buddha, the Miroku, highest attainment of Compassionate Consciousness. Sentient beings all, creatures who inspire and amaze, Sharing this divine and delicate Planet, Mother Earth.
